Today was a really fun... amazing day! At work we had an IQ day...(I explained waaaaaayyyyyy back in April when we went ice fishing--so go check it out!) HERE! We left town about 8:30am.. and headed out to Avataaqtu Bay.... it was so calm like glass going there in the morning..(coming home was MUCH more wavey...)

Arriving at the rocks.. the tide was HIGH..but soon went out....so we could stand on rocks and fish... .jpg)
..just a collection of stuff at the top of the rock---well above the 'high' tide marker---I had stuff left EVERYWHERE...but rounded it all up near the end of the day!

..catching a fish......the sun was amazing... it was HOT.. must have been about 20C or so...

so warm.. a small group of us decided to go swimming.....

my first reaction.... oh man this is COLD... like beyond ICE---like i can't feel my legs below my knees.. and I JUST STEPPED in... (thinking at this poing... crap i shouldn't do this!)

YES i screamed... and YES it was COLD and YES i didn't STOP screaming... (also had a bit of a wardrobe malfunction... mental note to self don't swim in too big yoga pants again--they tend to fall off...!)

I've adjusted a bit to the cold.... and well she just jumped in.....

After the swim.. the boat took us close to a river.... and this was my first catch of the day....

James (my boss) fixing my line again.... he was a great help!! the first time I lost my leader and lure... and this time well it was just a big mess of line... so he cut it and re-attached everything!! :) thanks again James!

MY FIRST FISH!!!! I WAS sooo excited.... i saw the fish 'chasing' my lure.. and then it bit it.. and i was like.. screaming.. and excited.. and well without James going... 'walk' backwards... i might not have had this happy moment!!

I can't believe how many things that you can find to do in such an isolated place. You seem to have one adventure after another. We missed you at the reunion yesterday. The rain was coming down in buckets! Susan and I stayed at your Mom's Saturday night. She has a nice place and Susan took some summer pictures for you.

There is SO much to do up here---just the cost of getting here is so great!!! Glad that you had a great time at the reunion... I thought of you guys yesterday.. it was another amazing day here!!! sunshine all around....
