Hope everyone is having a great Canada Day!!! I've had a great day...yes, this is a photo of me with a Canadian flay sticking out of my pony tail...in the back of a pick-up truck...in the midst of a Canada Day Parade... (and don't forget these awesome RED gloves!!)...ok, so maybe I've gotten ahead of myself... let's backtrack and I'll tell you how my day started!!!

The celebrations all started out by the RCMP office... the Hamlet gave out tatoos, flags and some other Canada stuff!!! Then, while the flag was being raised...the whole community sang O Canada.....

Then there was a 'candy toss'...from the roof of the church! Everyone took part from Elders to Toddlers...nothing like candy flying through the air!!!!

Next was the parade...lots of people had decorated their cars, trucks and ATVs.. with balloons and flags....one of the fire pumping trucks (i think) led off the parade.. then the 2 RCMP trucks... and then well EVERYONE in town with a vehicle! (I knew that this is what happens...so convinced my friend Jen to jump in the back of a co-worker's truck...) yep... I was part of a parade=total fun!!!

So the parade route went through all of town.... and it was a ton of fun... I kept standing up to take photos---it totally reminded me of riding the subway and not holding onto anything but just standing... (man i miss that feeling!)...so that was fun!!!

...did i just say 'fun' 2 times in that last blurb between photos? yes, yes i did.....

Yup... I was dressed for Canada Day a pony tail with a 'flag' in it... and my 'red' Canada Day gloves!!! :) so stylish.. and HOT! (but it was really really windy...and not that hot at all!!!)
Here I am with my friend Kim.....
This was the morning activity....in the afternoon there were Community Games---but that's a whole other post.... perhaps for another day!!!

Sarah, what an awesome way to spend Canada Day - one you will always remember.
Hey, great photos! I haven't checked for a while and they all look amazing. I really like the silhouette one of you standing on the mountain!
Yay for being back in the South! The Thai place was good - I had to go alone because I tried to go with the Warrenator, but it was crazy busy and a bit overwhelming so we opted for somewhere more relaxing!
Canada day dinner cruise was awesome! Fireworks were super cheesy (thing Bryan Adams, Celine Dion and Shania) but of course I loved it!
Things are good here - looking forward to more relaxing 'Peterborough time' at the end of next week.
oxoxo
