My 30th....

I have to admit...I had THE BEST birthday that I can remember...in a long time...(those who know me can remember some of the times I've had on my bday--this year no sadness..just fun, laugher and great company with good friends!).... There are so many stories to tell...things to laugh about.. and memories to last a lifetime!  All day Saturday was an awesome time... I went out to breakfast with friends... my friend Rosie said, "whatever you want to do Sarah.. today is your day..I don't have any other plans!" So that meant we drove around to a few stores, Baffin Electronics, Northmart, the Vistors' Centre(my first time there), Museum(got a carving for friends that perhaps are getting married in 2010!), the survival store, Arctic Ventures and a few house sales, and a loonie toonie... we even managed to catch the parade.  You can read about that HERE.

My friend Tara posted about her time at my birthday...she said and I quote, "I really do believe that Iqaluit is like the Vegas of the north when it comes to the other hamlets...what happens there, stays there." Now with a statement like that some of you might wonder WHAT did I get up to...but let's face it..when you go to the LEGION to celebrate and you are wearing fantastic headgear aka. tiara with the number 30 on it... how can you have a bad evening? That being said.. here are some of the photos... that Tara captured that evening... I made the wise choice and let me camera stay at home! 

Nathalie helped straighten my hair...after seeing the photos the week before when I was in the south...it took some time to 'tame' the curl...and she worked away.. never burning ME but I think she caught her own finger...Thanks so much!! :)

Before we head to dinner...some self portraits...not really sure what's with my face.... but oh well!

Everyone at dinner.... YES someone brought party hats and YES everyone wore them!!  and YES I had the time of my life!!

I even ran into Jordyn and Stephanie...they were having dinner.. (and they even blogged a whole blog about meeting Tara and Me--check out the link!)... I really truly hope we weren't too distracting..because i do remember our table being quite 'loud' and we were smack dab in the MIDDLE of the resturant!! hehehe  Nice meeting you Stephanie, and seeing you Jordyn again...hope you two have an awesome Christmas in Iqaluit!!

..this was before I recieved the button stating "another year sexier" and my birthday girl button with pink ribbons...which I also wore for the rest of the evening!

Jennifer and I... Jennifer and I met when she and her hubby lived in Pang...but they have since moved to Iqaluit!! I was so excited that she came out to help me celebrate!!

Rozy and Scott... really good friends... I can say we have had quite a few laughs over the last 8months....and I'll never forget our dinner at the chinese food place....ENOUGH SAID! 

Kim and Tara.. two friends that joined me from Pang.. and flew out for a weekend of fun and celebration!!

Nathalie and I... my dancing buddy!  I will miss our dancing out at the legion when I was in town in Iqaluit!!

This Santa was a tad creepy...you hit the button between his boots.. and he sang something... I thought this was funny.... so tried to get everyone together for a group photo........the first attempt... we had forgotten a few people......

Here we all are... Ummmm Kim? do you know where you put your hand?....I think you might be getting coal from Santa! LOL 

That is the end of the photos from my birthday celebration... I will say the rest of the evening was awesome, there was dancing, there were drinks, there were a few shooters...and party hats, and balloon tossing, and at midnight....there were hats, party whistles and singing of "happy birthday"... all in all it was a good nite!!  Thank you to all my friends for making my day sooooo special!! :)

Happy Birthday to me....

I can say now that I can no longer say I am part of the 20s club...

It's hard to believe that I'm actually 30...

Here's to the next decade of life... and to many more!!

Benjamin's First Birthday!

I was lucky enough to be back in Haliburton for Benjamin's First Birthday Party!! It was sooo great to see my Grandma, Bart, Aunt Anna, Jamie and Dana (brother and sister-in-law), Pam and Gord(Dana's parents) and of course my nephews!! :) Samuel was so excited to see so many people from his family at his house for the PARTY! We soon went outside to see his new cubby house...it was nice to sit in the sun...and the blackflies and mosquitoes were kept away by a slight breeze!!

Samuel is just like Jamie--he LOVES his tonka trucks..... at one point he even gave Benjamin a ride in the dump truck!! Benjamin had fun 'bum-scooting' around the grass...His hat is so adorable!!
My Grandma took time to enjoy the new swingset..swinging with the Birthday Boy!!

The boys in my gift...a weird gift I know...but I gave Benjamin 2 books... one was titled "what can you do with a box?" so of course I gave Benjamin a box to see what he could do with it.. Samuel was all about jumping in and having Benjamin join him....

...CAKE...mmmmmm sooo good!! Dana is SUCH a good COOK!!! the BBQ was awesome too!!

So there you have it... Benjamin is now officially ONE!!!
