Electrified?

There's this problem I've been having.... I know I've always been a bit sparky, had a lot of energy and perhaps a bit hot. I have NEVER shocked myself more since moving to the North. Yep, it's dry up here--so that means there's static electricity like EVERYWHERE(apparently). As a kid I use to be sad because I could never drag my feet off the carpet and shock someone.. I guess I should have moved north then and there. I don't have to drag my feet on the carpet--I just have enough to shock myself.

I first discovered this at work. I was going to the bathroom, and touched the metal handle and like instant snap!pop! and CRACK! I thought to myself that's weird---but it happens EVERY TIME I PEE!!! and I don't know how to stop it!!!!

It's NOT even the work bathroom I have this problem... in my own house too!!! I go to turn off a light---and there it goes again... snap!pop!crack! with a blue spark that goes from my finger to the light switch... well that's more serious than a little jolt..isn't it?!

I asked my co-worker at work...about the bathroom...and she looked at me like I was crazy..so just left it at that.

I'm not sure WHAT to do..or if there is anything left to do about this situation? am I just going to be electrified and shocked on a daily basis while living in the north. It really makes me second guess if I'm going to pee at work--and makes me NEVER want to turn off a light...and we all know I have enough issues with 'moving in the darkness'!!!

(so I also made it possible to post comments without having user id---I just ask that if you do post using anonymously---PLEASE put your NAME in the text you type; or I'll turn this feature off again!!)

Rubber-soled shoes? Those rubber tinsel dangly things on the mud-flaps of semis - only make them into a fringe around the bottom of your jeans? I get shocked by my metals blinds at work, so I give it a full-body block from the side before touching with my hand. Also get shocked by my car door every day. The only thing that helps with that is swearing (and I know that my sweet little cousin doesn't use bad words, so you'll have to come up with another solution :)

Have you tried carrying around bounce sheets? If they get rid of the static in my hair I'm sure they can help with your shocking situation :)

Water is a neutralizer. But because of Friction, you're going to get shocked if you hit any type of conductor (metals and such). The electrons want to be grounded!
